On Wednesday 25th September 2024, in the Atrium of the B:HIVE, Smales Farm, Takapuna, we ran a fun, challenging 6hr team-based Spin-a-thon called SPINFLUENCE. 29 teams, 166 participants, 12 of the best Cycle Instructors across Australasia and 115 of the coolest party music videos of the 80s, 90s, 2000 to present day. Teams were energised and motivated to ride relay format as hard and fast as they could for the 6hrs. The team that rode the most kms, being crowned Auckland’s Fittest Team.

Congratulations to Team Kotahi, achieving a very impressive 207.47km, followed closely by Recruitment ENVY! with 203.79km and in 3rd place overall with 194.38km our only all-female team TRANSFORM-US Wāhine On Wheels! (WOW!)

This event was about engaging with our local business community and educating them on the challenges that our disadvantaged and/or displaced young Kiwi adults across Aotearoa face when it comes to getting mahi (work/employment). Rise Up Foundation is about providing skills-based training programs and educational scholarships to help give these young adults a structured career path and the opportunity to earn a good, steady income, whilst increasing their knowledge and employment skills.

With Donations, Team Registrations and proceeds from our online Auction, we raised a total of $46,727. On behalf of Rise Up Foundation, we would like to thank the local business community, our partners and sponsors, all participants and donors for helping us to achieve our charitable purpose – to deliver skills-based training programs and educational scholarships to New Zealand’s less advantaged young adults.
